This time we will not be talking about new procures and ultra-modern technologies, but on the contrary, about rules that sound like a matter of course.
I think it still doesn’t hurt to remember them and think about them.
I recently came across the publication 1001 tips and tricks for WWW pages by a group of authors whose names I prefer not to list. Thanks to its title, the book certainly sold well at the time of its publication (year 2003). Even long after the browser war, web designers had a hard time overcoming the differences between browsers in the interpretation of HTML and CSS. 1001 tips and tricks would therefore come in handy. However, the book does not contain anything special. The authors probably copi things they found interesting from older textbooks, but it was only advice for beginners. In addition, dozens, perhaps hundrs, of these councils were long overdue in 2003. If this seems like a harsh assessment, I will quote one “trick”:
“A correct single-color dividing line without. A space before and after a line with any width. Even in percentages, is made using a table and a blank image.
Following is the code:
Let me remind you that a really correct dividing line is made using the tag and formatt with CSS styles! And that despite the fact that there was no HR player to style
The lower the professional level of the authors, the higher their level of ignorance. Said that there are OSs other than Windows. And browsers other than IE, and perhaps there are even people who use them, but due to their number it is not necessary to take them into account. Thus, images and symbols of the Windows-only Wingdings font can be successfully us. It is even more worthwhile to use the FrontPage itor, to which the second chapter is dicat (after the Internet Explorer chapter) and which generates pages that are display correctly qatar phone number data only in IE. VBScript (which only works in IE) is important for website programming, which is why a chapter is also dicat to it – in contrast to CSS, which knowlgeable authors includ in HTML.
The criticism I have written in lieu of an introduction is not meant to serve merely as a space-filler to introduce an old source of my fresh inspiration. I refer to her in my first recommendation which reads:
Choose carefully
If you intend to buy a professional publication that you intend to use in your work, do not be tempt by a promising title or a high-flown annotation. Authors and publishers are happy to praise the book – just like in the incriminat case:
“So what did we actually write for you? In b2b marketing success depends on understanding buyer behavior the modern word ‘tricks’, the biggest ‘pearls’ (…) that often show you much more effective procures and save you effort and time.”
There is perhaps more of a gap between bw lists professional publications than you might expect, so don’t waste your time, leaf through the book thoroughly and read some places. It is ideal if someone recommends the book to you. You can also read reviews.
